What is West-MEC

West-MEC is a unique public school district that focuses on hands-on learning, leadership development training and industry certification to help prepare today’s students for tomorrow’s careers. It all started with an idea to help students acquire the skills needed to be successful in their future. Since 2003, West-MEC has grown significantly providing career and technical education across the West Valley.


CTE programs combine academic and career skill development and provide students with college credits, internship opportunities and industry certifications.

West-MEC serves Agua Fria Union, Buckeye Union, Cartwright Elementary, Deer Valley Unified, Dysart Unified, Glendale Union, Paradise Valley Unified, Pendergast Elementary, Peoria Unified, Saddle Mountain Unified, Tolleson Union, Wickenburg Unified districts and is governed by 7 board members  West-MEC offers career and technical education programs in the 46 high schools within the member districts as well as at regional campuses.
