Western Maricopa Education Center (West-MEC) is a public school district that provides innovative Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs to more than 48,000 students from 49 high schools in the northern and western cities of the Phoenix Metropolitan area through their innovative partnerships, four campuses, and career academy.
West-MEC’s boundaries span 3,876 square miles and it is partnered with 15 public school districts and 2 charter districts to enhance a variety of CTE programs.
West-MEC’s proven outcomes, such as a 95% completion rate and unmatched industry alignment, directly address workforce shortages and position the region as a hub for economic resilience and innovation. These outcomes create a cycle where increased employment, higher wages, and economic activity collectively uplift the entire community.
